Mayfair Residence, London

This magnificent Grade II listed building in the heart of Mayfair was delicately revived by London-based developer Northacre. Intarya were asked to create an interior of ‘Ambassadorial Splendour’ for the 7,287 square foot duplex apartment. The interior scheme was to be befitting of the apartment’s potential owner – elegant, discerning and well-travelled.

With its towering ceilings, tall windows and exquisite mouldings, the challenge was to create an interior that reflects the building’s standing and scale, within the agreed budget. Architectural details were faithfully restored and the apartment finished using the finest materials, purposefully positioned for maximum effect.

Our tireless attention to detail often re-invents traditional techniques, such as the dusting of mouldings in distressed platinum rather than the expected gilding. This gave the apartment depth and layering, while updating the inherent character of the architecture.

The scheme seamlessly blends the historic fabric of the building
with a design of classically inspired furniture in modern finishes,
textures, colours and tones. Despite the grand proportions, the spaces feel comfortable and welcoming. The outcome is a home that blends practicality, uniqueness and timelessness, in a contemporary-classic fusion of old and new.
